Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has listed the strategies Chennai Super Kings (CSK) could come up with in the IPL 2024 auction. With the need to build a strategy to repeat the IPL 2023 heroics, five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will walk the auction table for the 17th edition of the cash-rich league.
CSK is expected to be led by veteran captain MS Dhoni while they will once again be led by Stephen Fleming. However, former Australian spinner Brad Hogg already has the master plan ready for the ‘Men in Yellow’.
According to Brad Hogg, CSK could secure a place in the top three of IPL 2024 if they bring in Manish Pandey along with young Kiwin opener Rachin Ravindra or batsman Daryl Mitchell. Both players were one of the main reasons for New Zealand’s success at CWC 2023.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Brad Hogg said:
“CSK will go out of their way to chase Harshal Patel and that will hurt RCB. Harshal Patel has the right qualities to bowl in the Chennai wicket. “If they get Manish Pandey, be it one of Mitchell or Ravindra and Harshal Patel, CSK will surely be in the top three in IPL 2024. CSK needs an Indian middle-order batsman.”
“Manish Pandey is the ideal man for them. He is also a good defender but we haven’t seen the best from him and I think if he gets a chance with CSK and under the leadership of MS Dhoni, we will see the best from him again. I also think they need another option in the middle order and they can go after Mitchell, but I don’t think they will get it. I think they will go with Ravindra.”
Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League and has kept the core of the team the same as in 2008. CSK has reached the playoffs of the cash-rich league in almost every season and has won five titles together with the Mumbai Indians.
The MS Dhoni-led team has played a crucial role in the development of veteran Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin played the initial matches of his IPL career for CSK and is now the number one ranked Test bowler. Ashwin has progressed a lot under MSD’s watch.

A total of 333 players will be auctioned in the IPL 2024 auction to be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Big names like Shardul Thakur, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, Wanindu Hasaranga, Sam Curran and many more.
All these players have the potential to change matches of their own volition and also play a crucial role in helping the team win matches at crucial stages.
Teams like Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants have well-established teams and will want to improve their strategies for the next edition of the tournament.
