Royal Challengers Bangalore team cricket director Mo Bobat has revealed that supporting Mohammed Siraj with more bowling options will be the team’s priority during the IPL 2024 auction. RCB parted ways with many bowlers ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. and Mohammed Siraj was the only big name they retained in the bowling department.
RCB released 11 players from their squad ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. The team dropped players like David Willey, Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, Siddharth Kaul, Wanindu Hasaranga and Wayne Parnell.
Apart from Mohammed Siraj, the three-time runners-up retained other bowlers like Akash Deep, Karn Sharma, Reece Topley and Vyshak Vijay Kumar. However, except for Mohammed Siraj Siraj and Reece Topley, there are no international bowlers in their team. RCB also picked up Mayank Dagar from Sunrisers Hyderabad through a trade.

Supporting Mohammed Siraj will be RCB’s priority in IPL 2024 auction: team director Mo Bapat
RCB team director of cricket Mo Bobat issued a press release ahead of the IPL 2024 auction in which he revealed that supporting Mohammed Siraj with more bowling options will be his priority in the mini-auction. He also said that picking Cameron Green was a fantastic move for the team.
“Mohammad Siraj is a vital part of what we do, so supporting Siraj with more bowling options, including overseas bowling options, will be a real priority for us in the future. Then we have a core of local spinners, which I think is quite strong. Some of them have had some opportunities over the last year or two and may play more prominent roles in the future,” he said.
“We have a strong core of retaining players and we have a very powerful top order. Part of the decision-making we had around our player release decisions was trying to strengthen the middle order and bringing in Cameron Green was a fantastic move,” he added.

RCB picked up Australian all-rounder Cameron Green in a trade with Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal. Mo Bobat also feels that RCB has a powerful batting unit with top-notch experienced players.
“I am committed to a long-term project here. We have a fantastic captain in Faf and a great group of senior players with the experience of Virat, Maxi (Maxwell) and DK (Dinesh Karthik). So the ingredients are really strong.”
“The next goal is to make sure we create the right performance and culture where the players can really go and show what they are capable of, and go out and entertain the crowd. If we commit to our processes, play a type of cricket that is aggressive and have those moments where we are prepared to be brave, this will encourage the fans,” he added.
The IPL 2024 auction is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 19 in Dubai. RCB has 19 players in its squad ahead of the auction. They have spent Rs. 76.75 crore of his total salary purse of Rs. 100 crores.
Therefore, the side led by Faf du Plessis has Rs. 23.25 million rupees were kept with them. They can get 6 more players in the auction. Of 6 players, only 3 foreign players can choose.
