Liam Livingstone has responded to a fan after he asked the England star to focus on cricket. It all started when the England batsman turned to X to vent his frustration over an incident that occurred during the football match between Liverpool and Newcastle United.

The right-handed batsman expressed his disappointment over the penalty awarded to Liverpool towards the end of the match. Liverpool striker Diogo was sent cleanly towards goal and rounded Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

The Liverpool star seemed ready to send the ball into the empty goal, but decided to go down after minimal contact from the goalkeeper. Liverpool scored and sealed the match 4-2. Liam Livingstone, however, was not at all impressed by the call and expressed his disappointment over it.

“Football is so over 😂😂😂 how can you have VAR and still call it a penalty! It’s actually boring 🤣,” he wrote.

One of his followers then asked him to ‘think about cricket’, reminding him of his IPL team Punjab Kings’ title drought as he wrote: “Think about cricket, brother. In IPL Punjab the first title is needed.”

Liam Livingstone noticed the response from his followers and decided to react by writing: “It’s January.”
