Lucknow Super Giants have put up a decent show in their last two editions of the Indian Premier League. However, they failed to win the trophy and will look to win it in the IPL 2024 auction.
In their first two editions of IPL, LSG made it to the playoffs. However, they failed to win the tie on both occasions and failed to reach the final. Led by KL Rahul, LSG has proven to be one of the strongest teams in the last two seasons.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, LSG submitted its list of retained players to the BCCI. The franchise has retained 19 players on its roster. They have retained 6 foreign players. Currently, they have Rs. 13.15 crores remain in his salary purse.
Some of the key players that LSG has retained are KL Rahul, Quinton De Kock, Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis, Mark Wood, Naveen Ul Haq, Nicholas Pooran and Ravi Bishnoi. Surprisingly, the franchise has retained Deepak Hooda, who had a miserable batting show last season.

To add power to their batting, Lucknow Super Giants also added Devdutt Padikkal to their team in a trade. They traded pacer Avesh Khan to Rajasthan Royals for the same.
Among the released players, Jaydev Unadkat and Karun Nair are two well-known players. LSG have released 8 players from their squad, keeping most of the key players. Now, the KL Rahul-led team has vacancies for 6 more players, of which 2 may be abroad.
