MI vs RR, which was the 14th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, took place on Monday (April 1). The match between the two league heavyweights took place at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium, where a great moment of the match was seen.
Mumbai Indians were asked to bat and it was a torrid outing for them with the bat. Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir bagged golden ducks and returned to the hut in the first over. Dewald Brevis also followed him and Ishan Kishan (16) failed to take advantage of the start he had.
With Mumbai Indians reeling at 20/4, Hardik Pandya (34) and Tilak Varma (32) batted well and got their team back with their 56-run partnership. Both lost their wickets at crucial intervals and Mumbai came under pressure. Rajasthan then made sure to close the innings on a high.
Based on three-wicket hauls from Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal along with contributions from Avesh Khan and Nandre Burger, the opposition restricted to a total of just 125 runs. Apart from Hardik and Tilak, no other batsman crossed the 20-run mark.
Rajasthan Royals lost Yashasvi Jaiswal (10) early in the chase. Jos Buttler (13) and Sanju Samson (12) also died after the starts. But after that, Riyan Parag stood his ground and made sure to take his team home at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium.
Riyan Parag scored an unbeaten 54 runs as Rajasthan Royals chased the target with 6 wickets in hand. With the victory, the Sanju Samson-led team won its third consecutive match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Rajasthan Royals are the new leaders of IPL 2024 after MI vs RR. Kolkata Knight Riders were pushed to second place along with Chennai Super Kings. Gujarat Titans are at fourth place with Sunrisers Hyderabad at fifth. They are followed by LSG, DC and PBKS. RCB and MI are the last two teams in the table.
