MS Dhoni bhai is my idol – Mohsin Khan
It is because of his stature as a player that many players idolize him and see him as a role model. One of them is Lucknow Super Giants’ young fast bowler Mohsin Khan, who showed his admiration for former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni.
Mohsin Khan, who calls MS Dhoni his idol, was amazed by the way the keeper-batsman scored six and finished the game. The left-arm pacer recalled Dhoni’s iconic six-match winner in the 2011 ODI World Cup final and said it remains his favorite moment in cricket. Speaking to Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“Dhoni bhai is my idol. Woh jo chakke maarte hai end mein jaake (The way he hits those sixes at the end is amazing). I was just 13 or 14 at that time and was watching the final. As soon as he hit A After six, it felt like a Diwali celebration everywhere.”
Mohsin Khan was asked why he had not expressed his admiration in front of Dhoni, responding to this, the keeper-batsman said that he gets nervous when he sees the keeper-batsman, claiming that he cannot talk to him. He added:
“I feel happy just seeing it from afar. Main samne se baat nhi kar pata hu (I can’t talk to him directly), but seeing him gives me joy.”
It is almost confirmed that MS Dhoni will play in IPL 2025
It is almost confirmed that if MS Dhoni will play in IPL 2025, he will remain an uncapped player. This comes after the BCCI reintroduced the uncapped player rule. He retired from international cricket in 2019 and this allows him to be placed as an unlimited player as per the latest IPL rules.
Dhoni was part of Chennai Super Kings for all the matches last season. Even though he was battling a knee problem, he entertained the crowd with his punching power. He scored 161 runs at a strike rate of 220, all this happened when he scored the order.
