Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul has dropped a big hint regarding his move to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The wicketkeeper-batsman had a positive response regarding his switch to RCB.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is just around the corner and even though it is still a while before the tournament begins, the excitement has taken its toll on the fans. Apart from that, the focus is slightly on the mega auction, which will take place in December this year.
The mega auction is expected to see some major changes in the squads. Also, since the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not given any clarity on the retentions and RTM, fans and experts are already making predictions about the major changes.
One of the names that is making headlines ahead of IPL 2025 is KL Rahul. There is no certainty whether the wicketkeeper-batsman will be retained by the Lucknow Super Giants because, since the last edition of the league, he has been in the headlines due to the way things played out between him and team owner Sanjiv Goenka.
Sanjiv Goenka and Rahul were seen having a heated conversation during the IPL 2024. The franchise owner was seen giving the team captain a beating after they lost two consecutive matches by huge margins. Since then, there have been reports that the batsman will not be playing for the team.
Though Sanjiv Goenka recently mentioned that KL Rahul is like a family to them, he did not give a clear idea of how the batsman will be kept. However, some reports suggested that the team management would analyse the team balance before taking a decision.
There were also rumours that Rahul was in talks with several franchises, especially Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Reports claimed that the batsman would join his hometown franchise and even captain the team as they needed an Indian player who could take the team forward.
In a video that went viral on the internet, Snax Gaming told Rahul about their desire to see him in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In response to this, the Lucknow Super Giants captain gave a positive response.

KL Rahul replied: “Let’s hope so.”

KL Rahul has been one of the best batsmen in the Indian Premier League. He started his career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the league in 2013 but was later a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. He then returned to RCB in 2016 and after that, he played for Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.
Rahul has scored 4638 runs in the 132 matches he has played in the Indian Premier League. The wicketkeeper-batsman averages around 46 and has a strike rate of around 135. He has also scored 37 half-centuries and 4 centuries.
