Punjab Kings (PBKS), on Sunday (December 3), brutally trolled Pakistani star Shaheen Afridi after Arshdeep Singh’s impressive performance against Australia in the fifth and final T20I. The final match of the series took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

India had already sealed the series by winning three of the first four games and ended the series on a high by winning the fifth match. The Suryakumar Yadav-led team successfully defended 160 runs in Bengaluru. When asked to bat first, India scored 160 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs.

They were reeling at 97 for 5 at one point and the 150-run mark seemed like a distant dream. However, Shreyas Iyer scored a fifty to help India achieve a challenging total. The right-handed batsman scored 53 off 37 balls with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes. In response, Australia ended their innings at 154/8.

The troll of the Kings of Punjab, Shaheen Afridi:

Soon after the game ended, Punjab Kings decided to have some fun at the expense of Shaheen Afridi. Australia needed 10 runs to go with their captain Matthew Wade still at the crease. The onus fell on Arshdeep Singh to defend the runs in the final over.

In his first three overs, the Punjab pacer had conceded 37 runs and defending just 9 runs in the final over was a tough task. However, he once again showed his impressive ability to bowl well in the death overs and conceded just 3 runs to help India pull off a thriller.

He started the over by bowling two dot deliveries before dismissing Wade. In the last three deliveries, he conceded three singles to restrict Australia to 154. And soon after he finished the game, PBKS took a subtle hit to Shaheen Afridi. During the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021, Wade took Pakistan’s left-arm pacer to the cleanup.

The keeper-batsman hit Shaheen Afridi for three consecutive sixes in the 19th over to record a thrilling victory for his team. PBKS shared a video of Arshdeep dismissing Wade on social media platform X and wrote, “Not against this left-arm pacer Matthew Wade.”
