Ireland kick off their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign against India in New York on June 5. The match starts at 8 pm IST, which is 10:30 m local time. Ireland is part of a group with India, Pakistan, Canada and the United States.
Ireland is led by Paul Stirling, who is among the best run-getters in T20I cricket. He has an experienced side available to him. Many players in that team have played in the last two T20 World Cups and therefore do not lack experience.
They may be the giant killers of this group. Ireland are an experienced unit and should therefore fancy their chances against the United States, Canada and even Pakistan. They recently lost to Pakistan 2-1, but can surprise them on their day.
Therefore, they will surely have a chance to advance to the next round if they beat the rest of the three teams in the group. Ireland have never won a T230I against India and therefore beating them will be a different proposition. However, they have an advantage over the other teams in the group.
