Although he didn’t top score for Ireland in either of the two matches across this series so far, Harry Tector has been a dependable figure within the Irish top order, accruing scores of 32 and 36 respectively. When taking into account his obvious quality, backing him to hit over 22.5 runs here has to be favoured.
All bar two of the wickets taken by Ireland over the course of this series so far have been via catches, so invest in this from a betting point of view. Should Ireland be batting first, back the method of first wicket in the match to be caught.
PAKISTAN BETTING ANALYSIS
Pakistan improved significantly with the bat in the second T20i chasing down a victory target of 194 in 16.5 overs for the loss of just three wickets. Mohammad Rizwan demonstrated his class at the top of the order with 75. Backing him to follow that up with another 50+ score this time around looks a smart play.
Star bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi demonstrated his class on Sunday, the left-arm pacer picking up three wickets including both the Irish openers. When on form, it’s very difficult to contain him, especially as Ireland’s batters won’t be used to facing a bowler as quick and as potent as he is. Back Shaheen to finish as Pakistan top wicket-taker.
IRELAND VS PAKISTAN EXPERT PREDICTION
Pakistan head into the final T20i of this series as heavy favourites and rightly so. Although the pitch in Dublin has been excellent for batters, especially when considering the short boundaries, Pakistan’s sheer pace always gives them a chance of breaking through Ireland’s top order.
Most important, the tourists’ look like they’ve gotten to grips with their environment from a batting perspective and took Ireland’s bowlers apart last time out. Such a performance will have proven a big confidence boost and it would be no surprise if they backed that up here. Expect Pakistan to secure victory.
