Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan investigated the selectors of the Indian cricket team and wrote a cryptic tweet on ‘X’. Pathan shared Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan’s first-class numbers and tweeted the same on his official ‘X’ account. Sarfaraz Khan has not been picked for the Indian cricket team despite his decent performance in domestic cricket.
The main reason behind his negligence is believed to be his physical condition and he is very slow on the field. Irfan Pathan shared Sarfaraz Khan’s first-class record on his official name ‘X’ but did not mention his name in the tweet.

Sarfaraz Khan has played a total of 44 matches in his first-class career and has scored 3751 runs at an average of 68.20. His highest score has been 301* and he has hit 13 hundreds and 11 half-centuries. Sarfaraz is also part of the India A team against the England Lions, where he scored 55 runs in the second innings and showed the good form of him.
Sarfaraz Khan first showed his talent during the 2015 Indian Premier League while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Sarfaraz played an unbeaten innings of 45* runs and played some brilliant shots during his stay at the crease. Sarfaraz showed brilliant plays and many unorthodox shots, like the scoop, which also forced the then RCB captain Virat Kohli to bow down to him.
However, very soon Sarfaraz Khan was eliminated from the team due to his chubby body frame. Sarfaraz was careless on the field, which became the main reason for his exclusion from the team. However, Sarfaraz could not continue the magic of him after his maiden edition and he has only played 50 matches in which he has been able to score 585 runs.
Sarfaraz could not prove himself in the Indian Premier League but showed immense form in domestic cricket for Mumbai. Sarfaraz has always been one of the top scorers in almost every edition of the Ranji Trophy and has been a leading candidate to be picked for the Indian cricket team.
On the other hand, in the current setup of the Indian team, there has been a lot of competition to find a place in the team. However, the Indian team has also dropped big names like Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara in their team and given a chance to many young players.
The India vs England Test series is very important from the perspective of the World Test Championship 2023-25. The Indian team has played in the WTC final twice and will aim to do so once again and win the title.
