Indian national cricket team fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has opened up about his favourite match of his career. The fast bowler kept the 2024 T20 World Cup final between the Men in Blue and the South Africa National Cricket Team on top at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
The 2024 T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa was undoubtedly one of the greatest matches in cricket. It was not just about the bat and ball, but the game was riddled with emotions and was a fairytale ending for the Rohit Sharma-led team in the tournament.
Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India defeated South Africa by just 7 runs to win the 2024 T20 World Cup. It was a nail-biting match as the Men in Blue sealed the game from the jaws of defeat to end their 11-year title drought and win their second T20 World Cup.
Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller almost took the match away from India. Even the win predictor gave India only a slim chance. The atmosphere, the intensity and the joy of lifting the cup with my teammates made it incredibly special. It’s a moment I will cherish forever, knowing that we made our country proud on such a grand stage.”
In 52 T20Is, Arshdeep Singh has taken 79 wickets at an average of 18.40, including best figures of 5/37. He will be seen in action again when India travel to Sri Lanka to play three T20Is and three ODIs, starting from July 27.
