Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar praised the men’s and women’s cricket team. According to Sunil Gavaskar, the women’s team performed very well throughout the year and recalled the victories in the home tests against England and Australia.
On the one hand, the men’s team won the 2023 Asia Cup and reached the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup and the World Test Championship.
The Indian women’s cricket team won a gold medal at the Asian Games. Speaking further, Sunil Gavaskar also praised the performance of the Indian men’s team in the ODI World Cup and stated that the ten consecutive victories in the tournament were commendable while leaving the final against Australia.

Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports: “I think it has been a fantastic year for both the men’s and women’s teams. I think the way the women’s team performed because when you look at the two Test wins, one against England and one against Australia, both teams against the Indian women’s team have had tough times before, but they broke that barrier, beating them. “In a Test match it will mean that from 2024 onwards, I think we can expect the Indian women’s team to beat them more consistently and regularly.”
“What we saw in the World Cup, the World Cup, ten consecutive victories and then that one bad day, unfortunately, turned out to be the World Cup final. It will truly be exciting times in 2023,” added Sunil Gavaskar.

The Indian women’s cricket team has been performing very well in recent times and has won many matches with their tremendous performances. The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur apart from winning the gold medal in the Asian Games won the women’s Asia Cup.
However, the Indian women’s team has also not been able to turn around the ICC qualifiers and has ended up losing many times.
