Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has shared a cryptic story on his Instagram account after writing a history in the ICC rankings. After his marvelous bowling show against England in the second IND vs ENG Test in Vizag, Jasprit Bumrah rose to the top spot in the ICC rankings for test bowlers.

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah has become the first bowler to achieve the highest position in the ICC rankings in all three formats of his career. In the past, only three batsmen have dominated the ICC rankings across all formats.

Former Australian batsmen Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting; and Indian stalwart Virat Kohli are the only other players to have topped the ICC rankings in all three formats in the past. Just after reaching the top spot in the ICC rankings, Jasprit Bumrah shared a cryptic story on his Instagram account. With his story, the Indian pacer has highlighted the hypocracy of the fans after his achievement.

Bumrah shared a photo of an empty and crowded stadium. He watched how everyone disappeared when he needed support and how the fans rallied behind him after the win. Take a look at his story below.

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah was out of the field due to a serious back injury for almost a year. Due to back surgery, he missed action from September 2022 to August 2023. During that period, he missed crucial tournaments like ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Asia Cup 2022 and ICC World Test Championship 2023 final. .

He was also in and out of the team due to a back injury before his dismissal. Many fans criticized and mocked him during that period. Some also attacked him because his absence affected the Indian team’s performance in those marquee tournaments.

In the ongoing IND vs ENG test series, Jasprit Bumrah has shown impeccable performance. In the second Test of India vs England, he won the Player of the Match award for taking 9 wickets in the match. In this first innings, he went for a 6-wicket haul to lay the platform for the team’s victory.

In the first Test too, he took 6 scalps, including a 4-wicket haul in an innings. Bumrah has dominated the English batsmen with his pace attack and made breakthroughs at crucial moments. In just 2 Tests, the Indian speedster captured 15 wickets in his kitty at an impressive average of 10.67.
