Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is ready to play in the third test against England in Rajkot. According to Indian Express reports, it is learned that the fast bowler has been cleared by the medical team and there does not seem to be any problem with the pacer playing the third game in a row.
There have been several reports in recent weeks suggesting that the team management could rest Jasprit Bumrah to manage his workload. The pacer has bowled around 58 overs in the two Tests and single-handedly carries the Indian team’s fast bowling department.
However, with a gap of around 10 days between the second and third Test, Jasprit Bumrah seemed to have had more recovery time and unless the fast bowler calls for a break, he will surely play the match. The Indian vice-captain is India’s leading wicket-taker with 15 wickets to his name.
Reports claimed that Jasprit Bumrah is interested in participating in all five games of the series. But the team management and selectors have informed him to take a break in Ranchi, which will be the fourth match, considering his injury problems that kept him out of action for a long time.
Since there is a gap of 8 days between the 4th and 5th Test, Jasprit Bumrah will be available for the last match in Dharamshala. Reports added that Mohammed Siraj is set to return to the XI in the Rajkot Test and if he fails to deliver in the game, the team might be tempted to play more.
Jasprit Bumrah was one of the main reasons why India returned to the Test series after losing the first game. The pacer exuded class on the batting-friendly Vizag surface and helped his team reach a dominant position in both the innings.
He picked six wickets in the first innings and then followed up with six wickets in the second innings. After his heroics in the game, Jasprit Bumrah became the new number one Test bowler in the ICC rankings. He would hope to replicate the same performance in the next game as well.
Jasprit Bumrah continues to shine but KS Bharat gets one last chance after poor performances – Reports
Apart from the reports related to Jasprit Bumrah, it is also learned that KS Bharat will get one last chance to prove himself with the bat in Rajkot. The wicketkeeper-batsman has failed to get going in all four innings in two games and does not look calm in the crease at all.
Reports claimed that if KS Bharat fails to make an impact with the bat in the Rajkot Test, India will look at Dhruv Jurel for the last two matches. The wicketkeeper-batsman was added to the team as second wicketkeeper after the team management made it clear that KL Rahul would not take wickets.
KS Bharat was also eliminated earlier from the Indian side. He was not part of the team in the South Africa series. However, with Ishan Kishan pulling out of the England series and KL Rahul not ready to take over, Bharat was called up again.
