In a recent development, Jay Shah has reportedly been re-elected president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for the third consecutive term. Earlier reports suggested that Jay Shah might resign from the ACC presidency to contest for ICC president.
In January 2021, Jay Shah took over as president of the Asian Cricket Council, succeeding Nazmul Hassan of Bangladesh. The ACC presidency rotates among the full members every two years, and Shah is currently serving his second consecutive two-year term in this role.
