Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had splashed 11 million rupees at former Punjab Kings (PBKS) auction at the Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction. This movement received many criticisms in social networks. After a poor IPL 2024, where he scored only 187 races from 14 games, PBKs launched JITESH. Many mocked him for his bad season and high price.
The 31-year-old gave an adequate response with his bat in the Vijay Hazare 2024-25 trophy. The crucial 51 of the 33 -ball Vidarbha batter and a sensational career capture to say goodbye to Chennai Super Kings Ruturaj Gaikwad captain in the semifinal were key to defeating Maharashtra.
Thanks to his reputation as one standing in the medium and medium low order for Vidarbha and Pbks, JITESH played nine T20i for India.
JITESH SHARMA reveals how he changed to the average order with Vidarbha
During the first years of his career in T20, JITESH was opening the entries in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. Vidarbha’s former coach’s advice, Pritam Gandhe, changed the trajectory of his career.
In an exclusive interview with Cricxtasy, JITESH revealed how Gandhe had suggested his movement before the 2021-22 season.
“All credit goes to a person: my coach at that time, Pritam Gandhe Lord. I want to recognize it publicly because he is the reason I became a medium order player. Before the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, he gave me the idea, ”said Jitesh.

JITESH then explained how the clarity with which he hit these positions significantly improved his game.
“We used to practice in Nagpur, starting at 6 am in general, the openers received the batting first, but the T20 practice did not occur in wet releases. Then, he said that the openers would hit later, and the medium order players would hit first. When I played in the average order, I had a clear mentality while playing my shots. That’s where the change occurred. That season, I hit the largest amount of six. Punjab Kings noticed my performance and chose me. And that’s how my trip progressed, ”Jitesh explained.
That season, he impressed when he scored 214 seven games in the average order to an impressive strike rate of 235.16. In addition, he broke an 18 six tournament.
