Pakistani cricketer Agha Salman spoke about his text message to Virat Kohli after the batsman got into a fight with Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He revealed how the RCB batsman reacted after knowing the text.

Although it has been a year, Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq’s fight during IPL 2023 is still fresh in the minds of many. After the match between RCB and LSG in Lucknow, the players of both the teams clashed verbally and the situation became very serious.

It all started during the match after both players faced each other. However, things got intense after the game when the two were seen getting into verbal fights with each other. Players from both sides got involved and even Gautam Gambhir had a heated altercation with Virat Kohli.

While the duo was involved in a verbal dispute, Pakistani player Agha Salman tried to calm down Virat Kohli. The then all-rounder had sent a text message to the India batsman on Instagram. The development was revealed by Salman’s teammate Imam-ul-Haq’s interaction on the Honest Hour podcast.

Imam-ul-Haq revealed that Agha Salman texted Virat Kohli to take it easy. The opening batter declared: “Kohli bhai, go easy. What has happened? [Kohli brother, take it easy. What happened?].”

During that podcast, Imam-ul-Haq also revealed Virat Kohli’s bond with Shadab Khan, saying that both of them are Punjabi and hence share a good bond. He said:

“Virat is an extremely funny person because he is a Delhi boy and he is pure Punjabi. That’s why he speaks mainly in Punjabi. Since we have played a lot of cricket for India in the last two years, he and Shadab share a good bond.”

Agha Salman reveals about text message to Virat Kohli after his fight with Naveen-ul-Haq

Agha Salman, who is the main architect of the story, was asked about the message he sent to Virat Kohli after his fight with Naveen-ul-Haq. In an interaction with his PSL team Islamabad United’s podcast, he revealed the entire saga.

Agha Salman also revealed that during the Asia Cup 2023, Shadab Khan told Virat Kohli about the text he sent to the India batsman. He said that when the RCB batsman found out about it, he reacted in a funny manner and said that he would soon see the text and post a screenshot. He elaborated:

“When he fought the game, Gambhir said, it was such a situation that after watching the match, you felt that heated moment and then it felt in a funny way, that when you see it, you yourself say that you love it. What are you doing on the ground?

After that there was a message, the one who initiated it was Virat Bhai. I told this to Shadab and basically Shadab told Virat that Bhai Isnai had sent you such a message. Virat just saw what he saw and then I will take the screenshot of him. And we did it in a very fun way. The Imam said Virat bacche… Aisa nahi hai, I have a lot of respect for him.”
