KC Cariappa, Bengaluru-born leg-spinner, who rose to fame while playing for the Riders of the Knights of Calcutta, Rajasthan Royals, and Kings of Punjab in the Indian Premier League, lodged an FIR against his ex-girlfriend in a drug abuse case and also shared a video of the woman consuming drugs, according to latest reports.
The two have been in a relationship for almost a year before deciding to split as KC Cariappa reasons that his ex-girlfriend was a serious drug addict and alcoholic who also had her own psychotic episodes which alarmed the leg spinner before breaking up with her.
In 2022, the woman had registered an FIR against KC Cariappa for impregnating her and then asking her to abort by giving him abortion pills. She had given a statement to the police that Cariappa had promised to marry her, but when the cricketer found out about the woman’s habits, Leggie, 29, was reluctant to do so.
KC Cariappa, in her last statement to the Karnataka Police, said her ex tried to defame her and threatened to commit suicide and blame the cricketer. He also tried to drag Cariappa’s parents into this matter and said that if his wishes were not fulfilled, he would ruin the cricketer’s career by spreading false things about him.
In the latest development, KC Cariappa has asked the police for help and has also shown the video of the woman consuming drugs. If found to be true, the Karnataka Police will take action under the laws of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda confirmed that investigations have been launched and questions will be asked of all persons related to this case. He also stated that the content of the video of the woman consuming drugs will be thoroughly reviewed and the police will also take necessary action against the said drug dealer.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner gives update on FIR registered by KC Cariappa
“We will examine the content of the video that has been posted and where it has been posted. Procedural implications will be examined. The origin of the drugs or the details of the drug dealer are also part of the investigation. Evidence-based measures will be taken. “We will examine the legal implications and proceed accordingly.” Bengaluru Police Commissioner said.
Meanwhile, Cariappa played 4 seasons of IPL in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019, picking up a total of 8 wickets in 11 matches in the 4 seasons. The Leg-spinner is known for its versatility as it is capable of throwing Googly and Carrom balls and, most importantly, can throw off-spin pitches without changing its grip with its legs.
