Ramandeep Singh talks about Gautam Gambhir’s contribution in helping him succeed

Given Ramandeep’s recent rise up the ranks, the Punjab cricketer praised former KKR mentor and current India coach Gautam Gambhir for his imperative backing.

Ramandeep told Indian Express: “Gautam sir told me that I would bat at 7 and 8 and advised me to prepare accordingly.”

He added: “During an inter-squad match at KKR, my team needed six runs off two balls to win, and I clinched the match with six. Gautam sir told me, ‘You are my favorite cricketer in this team and I will support you throughout the tournament.’ You should never play with fear.’”

Gambhir’s endorsement has revitalized Ramandeep’s career. Although Salt and Narine frequently set an aggressive tone for KKR during the powerplay, Ramandeep, who usually plays at number 7 or 8, has made vital finishing contributions and played a crucial role in helping KKR win their third IPL title to early this year.
