In a recent development, Western Indies prove Captain Kraigg Bathwaite has resigned from his role. The 32 -year -old opening batter was four years old when the Western Indies tested the captain after four years before leaving it.
Meanwhile, it is understood that a new captain is expected to be appointed in the coming weeks.
Kraigg Bathwaite, who served as captain since March 2021, informed the leadership of the Western Indies of Cricket (CWI) of his intentions earlier this year, before the conclusion of the successful tour of the team through Pakistan. His decision was made with an eye on continuity and ensuring a soft transition for incoming leadership.
In a statement, CWI confirmed: “Bathwaite wanted to ensure that the team had a transition period before its departure. As a result, it has presented its resignation before the local series against Australia, giving the new leadership time to settle.
