Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh has praised Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for their immense contribution to the Indian team over the years. Following his retirement from T20Is, Arshdeep Singh has said that their legacies will be remembered for generations.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli put up a spectacular show at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to lead India to the title. Sharma and Kohli led the way from the front and held the top spots for the team. Sharma scored several good knocks early on while Kohli struggled to score in the USA and West Indies fields.
However, Virat Kohli scored a match-winning 76 runs in the final and helped the team bounce back after losing wickets quickly early on. He struggled to score well in the Group and Super 8 stages but won the Man of the Match award in the final.

However, Indian fans felt mixed emotions of happiness and sadness right after the match as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma bid adieu to the shortest format. During a chat with IANS, Indian player Arshdeep Singh praised Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for their contribution to Indian cricket over the years.
“Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have left an indelible mark on T20I cricket. Their contributions have been immense and their legacy will be remembered for generations,” he said.
“Rohit Bhai’s explosive batting at the top and his sharp leadership as captain have set new benchmarks in the format. Virat Bhai, with his consistent performances and relentless pursuit of excellence, has been a role model for cricketers across the world,” he added.
Arshdeep Singh reveals the best of Rohit Sharma’s captaincy
Speaking about Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Arshdeep Singh said that it is always an amazing experience to play under him as he gives complete freedom to the bowlers. He also added that Sharma supports his players to play their natural game and termed it as the best thing about his captaincy.
“Playing under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma has been an amazing experience. Rohit bhai is definitely a bowler’s captain. He allows every bowler complete freedom to execute what he wants to do on the field. He has a unique way of keeping the dressing room atmosphere relaxed and positive, which really helps in high-pressure situations,” the left-hander said.
“What I like most about his leadership is his calm demeanor on the field. He always backs his players, which gives us the confidence to play our natural game. His strategic thinking and the way he reads the game are truly inspiring, and I have learnt a lot from him on how to handle different match scenarios,” the T20I specialist added.

Arshdeep Singh to play under Rohit Sharma in Sri Lanka series
Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh was also a part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The left-arm spinner took 4 wickets in a match. He provided good support to Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj in the pace department. The Punjab Kings player finished as the highest wicket-taker for the team with 17 wickets.
He will also be a part of the upcoming series against Sri Lanka and the ODIs and T20Is. Notably, the left-hander will also play with captain Rohit Sharma in the ODI series between India and Sri Lanka. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the T20I team. Singh has only played a handful of ODI matches so far but is a regular member of the T20I squad.
