IPL 2025 will resume on May 17 after a one-week suspension due to the political tensions of India-Pakistan.
The former starter of India, Sunil Gavaskar, has asked the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) to celebrate the IPL 2025 games without DJ and cheerleaders when the tournament resumes on May 17. The IPL 2025 had been suspended during a week on May 9 after the political conflict between India and Pakistan.
Sunil Gavaskar said that eliminating the DJs and the cheerleaders will show a brand of respect for families that have lost their loved ones during the Sindoor operation amid the conflict between the two Asian neighbors.
‘Let’s not shout …’: Sunil Gavaskar
“What I would really like to see is that these are the last games; we have had about 60 games or for others. I think they are the last 15 or 16 games. I would expect sincerely, due to what has happened and some families have lost their loved ones, I would like there to be no music. We have not shouted in the middle of an over,” Gavaskar said for Sports Takk.
“None of that. Let the games play. Let the crowds enter. We are going to have a tournament, the balance of a tournament. They are simply not dancers, nothing. Only the Crick would be a really pleasant way to respect the feeling of the families that have lost their close and beloved,” added the 75 -year -old man.
