India head coach Rahul Dravid has sent a strong message to batsman Virat Kohli after he came up with a 2024 T20 World Cup trophy in the dressing room. The former captain of the team told the opener to win the World Test Championship final and tick all the boxes in terms of the trophy.

Indian batsman Virat Kohli bagged the T20 World Cup trophy after the Rohit Sharma-led side beat South Africa in the final of the 2024 edition to win their second trophy. This was due to his sensational performances throughout the tournament.

India completely dominated the 2024 T20 World Cup as they won all their matches right from the start. Throughout the tournament, they were magnificent with the bat and ball and made sure they stepped up at the right occasion to seal the trophy.

Virat Kohli struggled with the bat throughout the tournament as he did not seem to be in his best form. Coming into the final, he only had 75 runs, but he made sure to step up at the right time and played a vital hand for his team in the final.

Virat Kohli was the man who batted for India in the final. After the team lost wickets early on, the top-order batsman put up a sensational effort and made sure to bat deep and helped his team finish with a fighting total on the board against South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown in Barbados.

Virat Kohli played a sensational innings of 76 runs in 59 balls. He batted at a strike rate of around 129 and hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. His knock helped India post a total of 176 runs on the board and won the game by 7 runs to lift their second T20 World Cup title. He also won the Man of the Match award for his innings.

With the victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli has completed the three titles in the ICC events. He won the Cricket World Cup in 2011, the Champions Trophy in 2013 and now the T20 title as well. The opening batsman gets one title, which is the ICC World Test Championship final.

Rahul Dravid is also aware of this and wants Virat Kohli to achieve the feat. When the Indian players entered the dressing room, the head coach told the first batsman: “The three whites are ready, one red is left.”

Virat Kohli retired from T20Is after the T20 World Cup 2024. He stated that it was time for the next generation to take over and with this, marked the end of an era as Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja left the format shortest of the game after winning the title.

Virat Kohli played 125 matches for India in T20Is. He is India’s second-highest run-scorer in the format. In his career, he scored 4188 with an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04.

The batsman will also have a great chance of winning the ICC World Test Championship final. India is likely to play the final and the match is expected to be held around March 2025.
