LSG youngster flaunts his reach with fabulous 51-run knock at Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024

He has played some fantastic knocks for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the past.

A young Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) star scored a wonder goal against Oman in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 at Al Amerat. He looked good from the first ball and his knock literally took the opponent out of the game.

Ayush Badoni, the 24-year-old LSG batsman, scored a brilliant 51 off just 27 deliveries, including six boundaries and two maximums, at a strike rate of 188.89. He was stern against all the bowlers but his best part came against Samay Shrivastava when he took 24 runs from the 10th over, hitting three fours and two sixes.

Before this match, Ayush batted at number 5 against Pakistan A and United Arab Emirates (UAE), but he had a rise in this game and was ranked at number 4 ahead of Nehal Wadhera. The move paid off as Badoni finished as the game’s leading run-scorer and the only player to score fifty from both sides.

This shot was filled with several glorious shots, and Badoni flexed his range and repertoire by hitting different shots all over the park. He finally got out in the first delivery of the 14th over when Aamir Kaleem dismissed him, but not before putting India A in a commanding position.

India A top the table with six-wicket win over Oman

After winning the toss, Oman elected to bowl first and did well reaching 140/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Nadeem scored 41 runs while Hammad Mirza (28) and Wasim Ali (24) also played well with the willow.

As many as five India A bowlers dismissed a batsman each, while other bowlers were also economical in their spells. During the chase, India A got off to a steady start in the absence of regular opener Prabhsimran Singh.

However, Anuj Rawat couldn’t hold on for long and was left out as he looked to break the shackles. Abhishek Sharma played an excellent cameo of 34 runs off 15 deliveries before Ayush reached a timely fifty.

Captain Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 36 while Ramandeep Singh hit two sixes to complete the job with six wickets remaining. India A finished the league stage without losing a match and topped the table.
