BCB chief medical officer Debashish Chowdhury was quoted by Cricbuzz on Saturday (August 17): “We have received an email regarding Mahmudul where it is stated that he has suffered a right groin injury and as a result, he will be resting for three weeks.”

The opening Test of the upcoming two-match Test series is scheduled to begin on August 21 in Rawalpindi, and the second and final Test is scheduled to be held at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi from August 30.

The Bangladesh cricket team arrived early in Pakistan to acclimatise to the local conditions and prepare thoroughly, despite the ongoing political instability in the country. They completed a three-day practice session in Lahore before travelling to Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi players are said to be facing problems with their hotel accommodations, particularly in relation to the slow internet connection in Pakistan.
