When I was nothing, not really playing the state game, the first person who believed in me was my father – Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Nitish Reddy spoke about his father and said that he left his job when he had nothing and it was his father who believed in him. The all-rounder spoke about the sacrifice and, speaking to journalists, said:
“To be honest, my father had 25 years of service in the central government. And when I was nothing, I didn’t really play the state game. So when I was nothing, the first person who believed in me was my father. He believed in me and quit his job for me.
“And he left his job to take me to the field, to the gym, to whatever I wanted, he wants to be with me. He made a lot of sacrifice. If I have to tell it, the time will not be enough. But I’m very grateful to have a father like him.”
I know some people doubted me and wanted to prove them wrong – Nitish Kumar Reddy
Nitish Reddy, who is India’s leading run-getter in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, said many people doubted him and he wanted to prove them wrong. He said he wants everyone to know that he is giving his best for India. He added:
“I had never thought about that. But I know some people doubted me, like I am a youngster who played IPL and can’t perform in such a big series. I know a lot of people talked about that. And I just want them to feel bad because of what they’ve said about me. And that’s what I’m doing. “I want people to know that I am here to give 100% for the Indian team.”
