The defenders of the Premier League of India (IPL) Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have received a massive impulse with most of their stars abroad that will return to India for the resumption of the tournament.

Kock quinton among the players who will join KKR

According to Espncricinfo, Quinton de Kock in South Africa will join the Kolkata Knight Riders team in Bengaluru on Thursday. That is a couple of days before the reigning champions face the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Garden City, with the game scheduled for May 17 (Saturday).

That will be the first game from the IPL 2025 resumption, which was suspended for a week on May 9 due to political tensions between India and Pakistan. Several players flew back to their respective native countries and cities once the suspension of one week was announced.

Most of Knight Riders’ Kolkata players, including Spencer Johnson in Australia, will return to India for the resumption of IPL2025. The Western Indies of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are expected to arrive on Wednesday afternoon. They had approached a Dubai flight to Bengaluru on Wednesday at mid -morning.

They had been in Dubai in recent days and had not traveled to the Caribbean with the resumption of IPL 2025. However, England veteran, Moeen Ali, has not yet confirmed whether he will return to India or not. The majority of Kolkata Knight Riders Indian is expected to arrive at Bangalore on Wednesday night.

KKR’s last opportunity to keep the thin hopes of the playoffs alive

The team led by Ajinkya Rahane is currently in sixth place with 11 points of 12 games. They need to win their two remaining games to maintain their thin hope of qualifying for the Playoffs of IPL 2025 alive. The Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, is in second place with 16 points of 11 games and will be classified for the playoffs if they win one of their remaining three games.
