Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have faced a tough blow in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Pace sensation Mayank Yadav has been ruled out for the team’s next two matches in the league. Coach Justin Langer confirmed the same in his speech to the media.

Mayank Yadav, who has been breathing fire in the ongoing IPL 2024, struggled with his bowling in the game against Gujarat Titans. He simply threw one during the game and left the field with the injury. It was later revealed that he had a side strain and then did not train with the team.

Mayank Yadav has grabbed the headlines for his stupendous effort with the bat in IPL 2024. The fast bowler caught the attention of many with his ability to consistently clock 155 kmph. Even the fans of the opposing team support the pacer, which says a lot about his caliber.

Mayank Yadav’s absence will be a big blow for Lucknow Super Giants in the next two games because he has been a game-changer in the tournament. He helped his team win both games of the tournament from the lost cause and picked 6 wickets in the two games, winning two consecutive Man of the Match awards.

Lucknow Super Giants head coach Justin Langer has admitted that they are looking for a pacer to return to action in the match against Chennai Super Kings on April 19. While he confirmed that the fast bowler will miss two games, he highlighted that the pacer is working hard.

Justin Langer revealed that doctors and physiotherapists are optimistic about Mayank Yadav’s physical condition. While talking about his injury, he explained:

“That is the plan (to have Mayank fit for the match against Chennai Super Kings on April 19). We want him to play every match if possible. But he will work for it; he is working very hard every day to be ready for Whatever our next game is. He won’t play tomorrow, it’s unlikely… with the deadline being so short, it’s unlikely he’ll play these two games. But he’s certainly working to play whenever he can.

“He was feeling a little tightness in his upper hip before the last game, but it was a one-in-ten pain, and we thought it was clinical signs. All through the doctors and the physical therapists. He seemed perfectly fine. He threw that first game (against the Titans) and he started feeling something in his hip. But we did an MRI and there is very, very small swelling there. So we are very hopeful that he will start to get stronger and get back to bowling soon “.

Justin Langer gives update on Mohsin Khan’s fitness

Justin Langer also provided an update on Mohsin Khan’s fitness. He stated that the fast bowler is fit and will be available for the match against Delhi Capitals. Speaking about the same, he explained:

“He is bowling now. He had a small disc problem in his back. He and Mayank are very important to us. He has gone through all the treatment; it is really good to have excellent medical staff. He is bowling today. in the middle.

“He may be available tomorrow but more likely we’ll hopefully keep an eye on the Calcutta game where that extra pace will be valuable. But he’s on the right track, fingers crossed.”

Lucknow Super Giants will next be seen in action when they take on Delhi Capitals on April 12.
