The latest edition of Hong Kong Sixes is just around the corner and up to 12 teams will participate in the competition. Bangladesh, placed in Group D, is among them.
They have Oman and Sri Lanka in their group and will relish their chances of defeating them and advancing to the next stage. Their team has a lot of quality, and some of them played for Bangladesh in the past.

Yasir Ali
Yasir Ali, Bangladesh’s captain in the Hong Sixes Tournament, is among the most experienced players in the team, having played in all three formats for Bangladesh. He has appeared in six Tests, nine ODIs and 11 T20Is, scoring 435 runs at an average of 17.40, including two fifties.
He has played 93 T20s and scored 1789 runs at an average of 25.55 and a strike rate of 125.19, including nine fifties. Yasir can also bowl some spin and could contribute a bit with the ball in the tournament.
Jishan Alam
Among the most interesting players in the country, Jishan Alam is an all-round batsman who bats right-handed and bowls useful off-spin. While he is yet to play for his national team, Jishan has been part of the Bangladesh U-19 and Bangladesh A teams.
So far, he has 575 runs at an average of 26.13 and a strike rate of 128.34 in 23 List A games, including four fifties, and 15 runs in two T20s. Currently playing the Emerging Asia Cup in Al Amerat.
Mohammad Saifuddin
Mohammad Saifuddin is an exciting all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls medium pace with the right arm. He has played 67 matches for Bangladesh in ODIs and T20Is, scoring 568 runs at an average of 27.04, including two fifties, and taking 83 wickets at 29.36 runs each, aided by two four-wicket hauls.
He has played 117 T20s, where he scored 566 runs at an average of 15.72 and a strike rate of 118.41 in 61 innings. Furthermore, he also has 153 wickets at 21.25 runs each, which shows that he is capable of contributing with both the bat and the ball.

Nahidul Islam
Nahidul Islam has never played for Bangladesh, but has been on the domestic circuit for a while. He has appeared in 53 First Class, 112 List A and 85 T20 matches, making his debut in 2013.
He has scored 538 runs at an average of 14.15 and a strike rate of 114.46 in 50 innings, including fifties, and has taken 60 wickets at an average of 23.53, aided by two or four wicket hauls. . He recently played in the Dhaka First Division Cricket League, a local List A tournament, where he played magnificently by taking wickets consistently.
Abdullah Al Mamun
Abdullah Al Mamun is another exciting young all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls medium pace with the right arm. He has also not played for Bangladesh but has played all formats in the domestic circuit.
He has two centuries in First Class cricket and one in List A cricket, but his T20 cricket is limited to just three matches. Recently, he was playing in a local List A tournament called the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, impressing with both bat and ball.
Abu Hider
Abu Hider is a left-arm pacer who has played for Bangladesh in ODI and T20I formats. He played two ODIs and took 3 wickets at 29.66 runs each, while snaring 6 wickets at an average of 55 in 13 T20Is.
Overall in T20, he has 77 wickets at an average of 29.38 in 92 T20s, including two four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul. Additionally, he can also bat a bit, which should come in handy in a tournament like the Hong Kong Sixes.
Suhag Gazi
Among the most experienced players in the Bangladesh team, Sohag Gazi has played for his team in all three formats. He has played ten Tests, 20 ODIs and ten T20Is, taking 64 wickets at 40.93 runs each, aided by two five-wicket hauls.
His T20 record reads: 72 wickets at 32.97 runs each, with the best being 3/17. With his extensive experience, Gazi will seek to contribute to the team’s cause
