Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the youngest cricketer to debut in the Ranji Trophy
Suryavanshi made headlines when he debuted at the surprisingly young age of 12 years and 284 days against Mumbai during the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season, setting a record as the youngest player in the history of the tournament. This incredible achievement surpassed records previously held by cricketing greats such as Yuvraj Singh, who debuted at 15 years and 57 days, and Sachin Tendulkar, who began his career at 15 years and 230 days.
Suryavanshi’s brilliance shone further during the junior test series against Australia in Chennai where he scored an explosive 104 runs off just 62 balls.
At 13 years and 188 days, he became the youngest player to score a century in the 170-year history of competitive cricket and also set a new benchmark as the fastest Indian to score a century at the junior level. His remarkable 58-ball knock ranks as the second-fastest century in this category, just behind England’s Moeen Ali, who achieved the feat in 56 balls.
Suryavanshi’s rapid rise continues to inspire and enthrall cricket enthusiasts around the world.
