Mehidy Hasan Miraz dedicates PoTS award to student protesters, Litton Das hails Bangladesh’s historic Test series win

Bangladesh national cricket team stars Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz spoke about the series win against Pakistan national cricket team. Litton Das said that it is a great achievement for them and he is delighted with the way his team performed during the two games.

History was made at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, September 3. The Bangladesh national cricket team achieved its first ever Test series win against the Pakistan national cricket team at their home ground, winning the series 2-0.

One of the major factors behind their victory was wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das. The right-hander played a magnificent innings in the second game and turned out to be the decisive factor in his team winning the game after being under pressure.

Litton Das came under pressure as Bangladesh were reeling at 26/6. With conditions favourable for fast bowlers, the wicketkeeper-batsman made sure he showed his A-game and helped his team out of trouble. He soaked up all the pressure while executing some impressive shots to put the pressure back on the opposition.

Litton Das played a sensational innings of 138 runs, which brought Bangladesh close to Pakistan’s first innings total of 274 runs. He was supported by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who played an innings of 78 runs, as the duo bailed the team out of trouble and helped them get back into the game.

After that, Bangladesh were sensational with the ball in the second innings as they beat Pakistan for a low total and set a target of 185 runs to chase which they achieved with 6 wickets in hand. They also took away crucial points from the World Test Championship and took the fourth spot in the table.

Litton Das spoke about the win and said that he is happy to be in the series-winning team. He spoke about his partnership with Mehidy Hasan Miraz and said that they wanted to end the momentum of the Pakistan team. Litton Das added that he wanted to take some time to see how things go. Speaking after the game, Litton Das explained:

“It’s a great achievement for the Bangladesh cricket team. I’m a part of this, so I’m very happy. When Miraz and I [were] As for batting, the credit actually goes to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, for the way he faced 20 balls and [if he] If he hits five or six fours, the game will be easier. We just had conversations like this. They had a good momentum. We had to break that momentum.

“Let’s see what happens next. After lunch, we felt free and went out to bat. When Hasan came in, I didn’t have any scoring opportunities because all the fielders were out,” Litton said. “So I took my time and thought I had to bowl the over, not the ramp or anything; I was just thinking about how many overs I could bowl.”

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who won the Player of the Series award, said that he dedicated his award to the student protesters. He said that amidst all the turmoil, they are happy to have given the nation some happiness. Mehidy Hasan Miraz added:

“They know there have been problems in Bangladesh. I dedicate this award to the student protesters who were killed. A rickshaw driver was injured in the violence and eventually died. I want to give this award to his family.”

“I don’t know what this means for the whole of Bangladesh, but I know that Bangladesh is a very proud nation, so we are incredibly happy with these results, given the turmoil of the last few months. We were there at the time and it was quite scary. But we are happy that things are getting back to normal,” concluded Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
