Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya was booed once again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. It came during the ongoing match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), which was being played at the stadium Mumbai Wankhede.
At 215 runs, Mumbai Indians got off to a solid start to their innings, thanks to Rohit Sharma. The opening bat looked in excellent contact with the bat and played some superb shots in his innings, ensuring he put his team on a flight in the big chase.
Although Dewald Brevis, who opened the innings, struggled to get going, Rohit Sharma made sure to take pressure off the youngster. The senior batsman played an attacking innings and added 88 runs for the opening partnership with the young South African batsman, scoring most of the runs.
Rohit Sharma, who went through the lean phase in the last few matches, made sure to finish the tournament on a high. The opening batsman put up a brilliant effort with the bat and slammed a half-century at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The way Rohit Sharma was batting, he looked ready for a big knock. However, he got an unfortunate dismissal when he perished to Ravi Bishnoi in the eleventh over of the game as Mumbai Indians lost their third wicket in quick succession at the Wankhede Stadium.
When Rohit Sharma came out, the entire Wankhede stadium gave him a standing ovation. But what caught the attention of many was the reaction of Hardik Pandya, who came out to bat as the senior opener returned to the pavilion of his stadium in Mumbai.
While the entire crowd was applauding Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya walked past the first batsman without appreciating the batsman’s knock. However, when the fans in the stadium witnessed that and saw the all-rounder come out to bat, they booed the Mumbai Indians captain.
