MI vs LSG: Watch: Romario Shepherd takes Rohit Sharma’s autograph amid rumors that the batsman will leave Mumbai Indians after IPL 2024

Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Rohit Sharma is trending on the internet as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match between the five-time champions and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) begins. The 67th match of the tournament between both teams is being played at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

There are many rumors about the ongoing IPL 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants as Rohit Sharma’s last game in Mumbai Indians colours. There have also been many hints about this as many things have gone viral on the internet about the same.

One of the biggest clues that caught the attention of many was when Romario Shepherd asked Rohit Sharma for his autograph. The West Indies all-rounder came out of the dressing room to the balcony and asked the veteran batsman for the sign of him on the bat.

Here is the video:

With players closing in on him, it potentially hints that Rohit Sharma could leave Mumbai Indians after the ongoing season. The batsman was recently seen sitting in the Kolkata Knight Riders dressing room when the match between his team and KKR took place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rumors of Rohit Sharma joining Kolkata Knight Riders came to light when his conversation with KKR mentor Abhishek Nayar went viral on the internet. The video was posted by the Kolkata Knight Riders but was later deleted when Rohit’s words shook the internet. He stated:

“Ek ek cheez is changing… Woh unke upaar hai… Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai (Everything is changing one by one… It’s up to them… Like be it, but it is my brother home, it is the temple that I built.

This all started just before the Indian Premier League. The Mumbai Indians management removed Rohit Sharma from the captaincy and made Hardik Pandya the team leader. Since then, a lot has happened in the franchise and the fans have not accepted the all-rounder either, booing the team captain.

Rohit Sharma will play a crucial role as Mumbai Indians need 215 runs to win against Lucknow Super Giants

Mumbai Indians have been set a target of 215 runs to chase by the Lucknow Super Giants. They opted to bowl first and got off to a great start with the ball as they reduced the opposition to 69/3 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

But after that, Nicholas Pooran (75) and KL Rahul (55) played a vital hand for their team. Before Ayush Badoni (22*) finished the innings on a high for his team. Based on the collective effort with the bat, Lucknow Super Giants posted a mammoth total of 214 runs on the board.

The focus will be on Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians will look to chase the target. The batsman started the season on a high. However, since the last few games he has not been able to get going. He would hope to finish on top and get some runs under his belt.
