Mohammed Shami breaks silence on knee injury reports and his participation in BGT 2024-25

Indian National Cricket Team fast bowler Mohammed Shami has hit out at reports suggesting that he has been excluded from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He said he has done everything he can to be in top shape and urged people not to trust fake news.

On Wednesday (October 2), media reports suggested that the Indian national cricket team had faced a tough blow. It emerges that Mohammed Shami has battled a fresh knee injury and has been ruled out for at least 6-8 weeks, meaning he is a doubt for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Reports claimed that Mohammed Shami had suffered a swollen knee. It was made public saying that BCCI’s own source confirmed the same.

However, with reports that Mohammed Shami’s new injury scared Indian fans, the pacer denied all the reports. He took to his X account and came with the clarification that all the reports doing the rounds are false.

Mohammed Shami, while lashing out at the reports, stated that neither the BCCI nor he himself has confirmed his injury and all the reports are baseless. He made a strong statement and said that people should stop spreading fake news. He elaborated:

“Why these kind of baseless rumours? I am working hard and trying my best to recover. Neither the BCCI nor I have mentioned that I am out of the Border Gavaskar series. I request the public to stop paying attention to this kind of news from Unofficial Sources. Please stop and don’t spread such false and false news, especially without my statement.”
