When we lost 4 wickets in the powerplay, our batting collapsed and that’s where we lost the game – captain of Bengal after defeat.

Speaking after the quarter-final defeat of the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Bengal captain Sudip Gharami credited Baroda for the way they played. He admitted that losing 4 wickets in the powerplay was the main reason behind his loss. He explained:

“You have to give credit to Baroda. Last year they were runners-up, they batted and fielded well. When we lost 4 wickets in the powerplay, our batting collapsed and that is where we lost the game. We learned from this game that we must not give up and we can go back”.
