Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and his ODI squad have reportedly landed in Colombo ahead of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which begins on August 2. The Indian captain was accompanied by key players like Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav and Harshit Rana at the ITC Ratnadipa hotel in Colombo on July 28.

Excitement is growing not only for Sri Lanka’s matches against India, but also for the strategic changes in the coaching structure of the Indian cricket team. With Gautam Gambhir already taking over as India’s new head coach, other members of the coaching team, especially the bowling coach, are yet to be finalised.

It has already been said that Gambhir’s support team will be finalised after the ongoing limited-overs series in Sri Lanka. Now, reports have emerged that Morne Morkel, the former South African fast bowler, is all set to be appointed as the bowling coach of Team India ahead of the home series against Bangladesh.

A report by Cricbuzz claimed that Morne Morkel will join the Indian team in the upcoming Bangladesh series, and his official appointment is expected to be made before the home series. Sairaj Bahutule is already in Sri Lanka, acting as the interim bowling coach, and is not sure of getting the top job.
