MS Dhoni lands in big legal trouble
According to a report in India Today, MS Dhoni’s previous residence has a diagnostic laboratory, prompting authorities to launch a legal investigation against him. Establishing a diagnostic laboratory means that commercial purposes are served in a residential area.
According to Jharkhand Housing Board chairman Sanjay Lal Paswan, use of residential land for commercial purposes is illegal. He claimed to have received complaints regarding this matter and also asked officials to investigate it.
“State housing board rules dictate that plots allotted for residential purposes cannot be used for commercial gains. We have received some complaints. I have asked officials to investigate the matter. If the allegations are found to be true, then they will be will send a notice. “It will be issued to (MS) Dhoni,” JHB president Sanjay Lal Paswan was quoted as saying by TOI.
If the charges are proven correct after full investigation, the Jharkhand Housing Board will serve MS Dhoni with a legal notice. Following notice, further action will be taken accordingly.
Where does MS Dhoni currently live?
Although MS Dhoni was given this land for residential purposes, he does not live there. The former Indian captain currently lives on Simaliya Ring Road, which has a seven-acre facility.
It is located about 25 km from the award-winning facility on Harmu Road. It took almost three years to build Dhoni’s new home, where he currently lives with his family. The former India captain and his family moved here in 2017, when he was still an active international cricketer.
Dhoni can be seen on numerous occasions at his current residence engaging in various activities such as farming, cycling and meeting his fans. Despite being a great world figure, he still prefers to stay in his hometown.
When did MS Dhoni retire?
MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020. His last international match was the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, where India suffered a heartbreaking defeat.
Despite retiring from international cricket, Dhoni has continued to play in the Indian Premier League over the years. He even led Chennai Super Kings to an IPL victory in 2023, but handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the 2024 IPL season.
However, CSK had a bad season and failed to qualify for the playoffs. In recent years, Dhoni has changed his role to a top-order batsman who likes to make an impact on the few balls he faces.
The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman scored 161 runs in 14 matches of IPL 2024 at an incredible strike rate of 220.55. Despite not being in good physical condition, he has shown his dedication for the franchise and will also be seen in IPL 2025.
