Legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has unveiled his all-time legendary playing XI after winning the World Legends Championship 2024 (WCL 2024) for champions India. In the final of WCL 2024, champions India defeated champions Pakistan by five wickets to lift the inaugural edition of the tournament on Saturday, July 13.

After winning the trophy, former World Cup winner Yuvraj revealed his all-time XI, which combines cricketing legends with promising newcomers. Yuvraj’s all-time XI is a perfect combination of unmatched skill, legendary performances and cricketing excellence, which would certainly be a formidable force on any cricket field.

Sachin Tendulkar

Yuvraj Singh’s first choice is none other than legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar. With over 34,000 international runs to his name, the Master Blaster’s inclusion is a no-brainer for any all-time playing XI. He is regarded as one of the all-time greatest batsmen the game has ever seen.

Ricky Ponting

In the second spot, Yuvraj picked legendary Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting. He was Australia’s most successful run-getter and one of its most successful captains, leading his team to two World Cup victories. He has over 27,000 international runs to his name.

Rohit Sharma

Former Indian all-rounder assigned the third position to ICC T20 World Cup 2024-winning captain Rohit Sharma, who is known for his elegant batting style and record-breaking performances, especially in limited-overs cricket.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, with his incredible consistency and hunger for runs, earned the number four spot in Yuvraj’s all-time playing XI. Kohli’s aggressive yet classical style of batting makes him a modern legend. He has been India’s all-time match-winner over the years.

AB de Villiers

Yuvraj has included legendary South African batsman AB de Villiers at number 5 in his all-time playing XI. His 360-degree batting ability and innovative strokeplay have dazzled fans across the world.

Adam Gilchrist

As a wicket-keeper batsman, Yuvraj picked legendary Australian Adam Gilchrist at number six. Gilchrist revolutionised the role with his explosive batting and reliable glovework. He has over 15,000 runs to his name in international cricket.

Shane Warne

Shane Warne, one of the greatest leg-spinners in the history of cricket, was ranked seventh in Yuvraj’s all-time playing XI. Warne’s magical deliveries have baffled many world-class batsmen.

Muttiah Muralitharan

At number eight, Yuvraj picked Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan, the player with the most wickets in Test cricket. His mysterious spin was a nightmare for the batsmen. Muralitharan is the only player to have taken 800 wickets in Test cricket and more than 530 wickets in ODI cricket.

Glenn McGrath

Legendary Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath, known for his pinpoint accuracy and relentless pressure, is Yuvraj’s ninth player in his all-time playing XI. McGrath’s ability to exploit even the slightest weaknesses of batsmen made him a legend of the game.

Stagnant water

Legendary Pakistani bowler Wasim Akram, known as the ‘Sultan of Swing’, claimed the 10th spot in Yuvraj’s all-time playing XI. Akram’s mastery of the swing bowl, both conventional and reverse, made him one of the most lethal swing bowlers of his era.

Andrew Flintoff

Yuvraj completed his team by picking former England spinner Andrew Flintoff at number eleven. The dynamic all-rounder’s intense pace and aggressive batting were instrumental in England’s successes during his era.

Yuvraj Singh told Shefali Bagga on the sidelines of WCL 2024: “Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan, Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram and Andrew Flintoff.” He then jokingly picked himself as the 12th man in his all-time starting XI.
