Former India captain MS Dhoni has revealed the name of his favourite bowler at present. The veteran batsman and wicketkeeper has retired from international cricket and is also not playing in domestic cricket.
However, he is still active in the Indian Premier League. As a result, MS Dhoni still plays with and against some of the best bowlers in the world every year. At Chennai Super Kings, he leads some talented bowlers like Matheesha Pathirana, Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande and Mustafizur Rahman.
At the same time, he also faced the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc, Kagiso Rabada, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult and other prominent players of the world. And the CSK captain has chosen his former India teammate Jasprit Bumrah as his current favourite. The World Cup-winning captain revealed his pick during an event.
When asked to pick his favourite player, MS Dhoni had no hesitation in picking Bumrah and also said that picking India’s pacer was an easy choice.

Dhoni’s comments came barely a month after Bumrah’s starring role in India’s triumphant T20 World Cup campaign last month. The right-hander shone with the ball as India won the T20 World Cup for the second time and the first since 2007, when Dhoni himself led the team to victory in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
Bumrah finished the competition as the third most wicket-taker, with 15 in 8 matches and maintaining an impressive save rate of 4.17. He was also adjudged Player of the Tournament for his brilliant performance. We are likely to see him in action when India host Bangladesh for the Test series next month.
MS Dhoni gears up to play IPL 2025:
Talking about MS Dhoni, the legendary wicket-keeper is likely to return to action next year during the IPL 2025. In May this year, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan had said that the franchise is hopeful of Dhoni taking part in the IPL next year.
“I don’t know. That’s a question only MS can answer. The point is that we have always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him,” Viswanathan said on CSK’s YouTube channel.
“As you all know, he has always made his decisions and announced them at the right time. We hope that we will receive a decision when he makes it.
“But we are very hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. That is the opinion and expectations of the fans and myself,” he added.
