The Mumbai Indians (MI) have brought three new players to replace Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch, who will leave the team after their last match of the League in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to international commitments. These new signings are expected to add experience and depth to the team as they go to the important final phase of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians sign Bairstow, Gleeson and Asalaank as playoff replacements

Jonny Bairstow from England has been appointed as a replacement for Will Jacks. The Wicktkeeper-Bater explosive will join the equipment at a price of inr 5.25 million rupees. Fast Bologna player Richard Gleeson, also from England, will take the place of Ryan Rickelton and comes at a reserve price of INR 1 Crore.

Sri Lanka’s batter, Charith Asalanka, will replace Corbin Bosch and has been signed at a reserve price of INR 75 Lakh. The three players will be available to play only from the playoff stage, if Mumbai Indians manage to qualify.

Will Jacks has been chosen for the Odi and T20i series of England against the Western Indies, which begins on May 29, the same day that the IPL 2025 playoffs begin. Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch have been selected for the South Africa team for the final of the World Testing Championship against Australia on June 11. However, Cricket South Africa has asked all its IPL players to return on May 26. This means that the three players will not be available for Mumbai Indians if they qualify for the playoffs.

The Mumbai Indians are currently fourth in the points table with 14 points of 12 games. Then they will face Delhi Capitals, who are fair behind with 13 points. A victory will confirm Mumbai’s place in the playoffs. However, if they lose, they must overcome the kings of Punjab in their final game and expect Delhi to lose their last game to make my qualify.
