NAMIBIA FORM: PLAYING FOR PRIDE IN THEIR FINAL GROUP GAME, BUT ALSO PLAYING FOR SCOTLAND
Namibia may be eliminated from ‘Super 8s’ contention, but they’ll still be highly motivated to take a huge scalp here, ending a losing run of two games in the process and knocking England out of the tournament.
LAST FIVE: LLWWL
ENGLAND FORM: REIGNING CHAMPIONS BACK TO WINNING WAYS BUT FAILURE TO MAINTAIN THAT MEANS ELIMINATION.
England’s battering of Oman saw them overhaul Scotland’s net-run-rate, but they still must win this match to go above them in the table, which would be enough for them to reach the ‘Super 8s’, provided Scotland lose to Australia in their final group game.
LAST FIVE: WLAWA
NAMIBIA BETTING ANALYSIS
It would be no surprise to see the Namibia batters find the opening overs of their innings difficult against the England bowlers, when considering the sheer speed and guile that they possess. With that in mind, back under 11.5 runs to be put on by Namibia for their first wicket and for England to record a higher opening partnership.
What shouldn’t be discounted is David Wiese’s six-hitting abilities, the experienced all-rounder is capable of clearing the ropes consistently. Bettors looking for a riskier stake that offers a higher return should consider utilising the ‘Player to Score Most 6s – Team’ market in which to invest in Wiese.
ENGLAND BETTING ANALYSIS
Despite England’s net-run-rate being good, they’ll still want to lay down a marker with another commanding victory in speedy fashion as they did vs Oman. Expect their openers to accumulate quick runs and backing them to record a higher opening partnership than Namibia has to be favoured, with a further stake on them accumulating over 28.5 runs.
Jofra Archer’s speed is likely to cause Namibia huge problems and he showed signs of his brutal best when he took 3/12 against Oman last time out. However, he could find himself rested here and therefore it would be wise to wait for team-news before making any investment in him from a betting standpoint. The same applies for fellow pacer Mark Wood. Spinner Adil Rashid should play though and after taking three wickets of his own vs Oman, he’s worth backing to pick up another 2+ scalps here.
NAMIBIA VS ENGLAND EXPERT PREDICTION
Expect England to be laser-focused in a fixture that they simply cannot afford to slip up in. Whilst the margin of victory may not be as high as it was vs Oman, Jos Buttler’s side should still comfortably come out on top against Namibia, whether they be batting or bowling first.
Speaking of Buttler, he was at his most brutal last time out with 24 runs from just 8 balls as England chased a 48-run target down in just 3.1 overs. It would be no surprise to see him in the runs again this time around, so back him to once again accumulate a score of over 20.
NAMIBIA VS ENGLAND TOP TIP: JOS BUTTLER TO SCORE 20+ RUNS
