Pakistan national cricket team fast bowler Naseem has spoken about the difficulties of having a foreign coach in the team. He admitted that the language barrier is a major factor and some of the players do not understand what the coaches are saying.

Pakistan national cricket team has always preferred to have foreign coaches in the squad. Even in the current setup, both the white-ball and red-ball coaches are based abroad. This is because PCB believes that having top foreign players will give a lot of exposure to their players.

However, one of the biggest challenges for both coaches and players is the language barrier. Pakistan National Cricket Team players are not very used to speaking English and foreign coaches only speak English, which is a major factor when it comes to having coaches from outside Pakistan.

Pakistan team is led by Gary Kirsten in the white ball and Jason Gillespie in the red ball. Some of the key players in the team are not fluent in English, due to which many experts and fans have expressed concerns about it.

Naseem Shah agreed that language sometimes becomes a barrier for foreign coaches. He stated that they need someone to translate as some things that players want to discuss with coaches are not easy to explain. Speaking to Geo News, he explained:

“You’re right. It’s a language barrier thing. Some guys understand it. But you need someone to translate it and explain it to you properly. There are some things you want to talk about in private. But you can go with someone who can translate for you. Another thing is that someone understands you in your language.”

I haven’t been given any specific plan as of yet – Naseem Shah on managing his workload

Naseem Shah also spoke about managing his workload and said that the Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet shared any specific plans with him. He admitted that playing practice matches and playing international cricket is very different, and all he is trying to do is manage himself well. Naseem Shah explained:

“I have not been given any specific plan as of now, but as a professional I know that after such a long time it is not easy to come back. Because no matter how many practice matches you play, there is a difference between the ground and the sky in an international Test match.

“The pressure on the body, the body load is different. That’s why my effort is to do the necessary preparation on my part, I can do it. Because if you increase the throwing load after an injury, then it’s very difficult.”

Naseem Shah will once again play in the Test series between Pakistan National Cricket Team and Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The series will begin on August 21 in Rawalpindi and the second match will be played in Karachi on August 30. Both matches will be part of the ICC Test Championship which will be crucial matches for both teams.
