In a major development for Bangladesh cricket, Nazmul Hassan has resigned as the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Hassan remained the president of the BCB for 12 years.
Former Bangladesh cricketer Faruque Ahmed has taken over as BCB President from Nazmul Hassan. With his appointment, Ahmed has also become the first international cricketer to take over as BCB President.

Nazmul Hassan resigns as BCB president
Nazmul Hassan had been under enormous pressure since the political turmoil in Bangladesh began, which forced the elected Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to leave the country. Following the political turmoil, Nazmul Hassan fled the country along with his wife.
