THE LOWDOWN

NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand are already home and hosed against Bangladesh in regards to this three-match ODI series, having easily won the previous two games. The Black Caps’ most recent victory came on Tuesday and by seven wickets on a good batting surface at the Saxton Oval. Chasing 292, New Zealand cruised home with six wickets and 3.4 overs remaining with the entire top five accruing scores of at least 20 runs or more.

BANGLADESH

Bangladesh’s bowlers continue to struggle getting the better of New Zealand’s batters, conceding 435 runs over the course of 76.2 overs across this series so far and two defeats means they are playing purely for pride in this final game. It was a huge shame for Soumya Sarkar, who played a magnificent individual innings of 169 runs opening the batting. This helped the Tigers get up to 291, which they must have been hopeful of potentially defending until New Zealand took control of the run chase.

THE PREDICTION

Even with the series all wrapped, New Zealand won’t want to go into Christmas on the back of a loss and will be eying up that 3-0 sweep. It’s been a lucrative series for their batters in the ODI format and that isn’t expected to change in Napier. Another game of struggle for the Tigers’ bowlers looks to be on the cards and eventually, a third New Zealand win at the end of it.

BETTING TIP: NEW ZEALAND TO WIN
