“Nightmare for selectors” – AB de Villiers urges RCB to play Will Jacks in IPL 2024

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player AB de Villiers has backed England player Will Jacks to play a crucial role for the team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He said that the batsman is a complete package and can win games at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

England batsman Will Jacks has been doing the rounds in the ongoing SA20 league. Playing for Pretoria Capitals (PC), the right-hander scored a brutal century against Durban Super Giants (DSG) and sent a strong message to many with his heroics.

Will Jacks played a stellar innings of 101 runs off 42 deliveries and helped his team win the game by 17 runs. The batsman has been in excellent form in the ongoing SA20. He has scored 164 runs at an extraordinary strike rate of 205 in just three games.

The batsman will also be part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The batter didn’t play last year. But with the kind of form he has shown, it will be very difficult for the team to leave him out. The batsman has impressed many with his strokeplay and hitting power from him. His ability with the bat has been one of the main reasons why Pretoria Capitals have had a good run in the tournament so far.

AB de Villiers said that a talent like Jacks not participating in the Royal Challengers Bangalore is crazy. He expressed the fans’ excitement in seeing the batsman play. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:

“He (Jacks) has not played a match for RCB. He is crazy for all the talent he has. It seems like the people of Bengaluru and RCB are excited to have this man perform for RCB. That’s a big question (Will Jacks play for RCB)?

I hope they (RCB) make a place for him – AB de Villiers on Will Jacks

AB de Villiers also highlighted Jacks’ great scoring ability and believes that leaving him out will be a big nightmare for the selectors.

AB de Villiers further hoped that RCB would be a sport for him as he is a complete package and can win matches for the team anywhere. He elaborated:

“We know he can score big runs. It is a nightmare for the selectors. I hope they (RCB) make a place for him. “He is a complete package and can win matches at Chinnaswamy or anywhere else he goes for RCB.”

Will Jacks has played 11 T20Is for England and has been impressive too. The batsman has scored 181 runs with a strike of around 150. Royal Challengers Bangalore would hope to make the most of his form and talent and make room for him in the XI.

With the likes of Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Reece Topley and others in the league, it will be a tough challenge for the team to make room for Will Jacks. But if he is not signed, it could also backfire because the batsman has been in top form in T20. The Indian Premier League 2024 is expected to start on March 22.
