The Afghan thread of the Mumbai Indians, Allah Ghazar, will be out of action for up to four months, discarding it out of the Champions Trophy, which begins next week in Pakistan.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced Wednesday that Nangyal Khari will replace it in the team of 15 members for the tournament.

Ghazanfar suffers the fracture of vertebra L4, for four months

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed that Allah Ghazar has suffered a serious fracture in its spine, specifically in the vertebra L4. This injury occurred during the most recent Zimbabwe tour in Afghanistan. Therefore, it cannot work for a minimum of four months and will receive treatment while recovering.

“AM Ghazanfar, has been discarded from the CPI champions trophy due to a fracture in the L4 vertebra, specifically in the left interarticularis pair. He suffered the injury during the tour recently made by Afghanistan by Zimbabwe, and will be marginalized for a minimum of four months and will remain under treatment during this period, ”the ACB wrote in his statement.

Ghazanfar came out of IPL 2025

Allah Ghazanfar was signed by the Mumbai Indians for INR 4.8 million rupees at the IPL 2025 auction. It was expected to be a key player for them with Mitchell Santner.

But due to an injury, it is not only discarded from Champions Trophy 2025, but will also be lost next season of IPL 2025.
