“I told him today that he has been a great example of doing the right thing and waiting your turn if it comes. Not playing the first three tests can be difficult and disappointing. But the way he pushed himself and put in the work out and didn’t let disappointment get in the way of a possible opportunity that could arise in this series.” he added.

Robinson impressed with a five-wicket haul in his debut Test against India in 2021. The right-arm pacer played in every match during England’s tour of Pakistan in late 2022. During the tour, he secured nine wickets in three matches in the flat fields of Pakistan.

“He has incredible skills to be a successful bowler anywhere in the world. What we have seen in England is that he is very skilled, but we have seen more than that in Pakistan. “It is similar but different here, but the ability he possesses allows him to find any move and his release point will always be dangerous.” Stokes further stated.

“The skill will always be there. But since that talk [in 2022] He has worked on everything that I thought would bring out the best in him, but also in the team. “To have Ollie Robinson able to bowl three spells and back him up the next day will do any team a world of good.”

England have announced their eleven for the next match, making two changes to their line-up from the previous match. Ollie Robinson and youngster Shoaib Bashir have replaced Rehan Ahmed and Mark Wood respectively in the playing XI.

The fourth Test between India and England will begin on Friday, February 23 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Currently, the home team leads the series by a 2-1 margin.
