Indian bowler Shardul Thakur rocked Assam during the Elite Group B match played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Shardul bowled a killer spell on Day 1 of the match and picked six wickets by giving away just 21 runs, resulting in Assam finishing with 84 runs in their first innings. This is a bright sign for the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024.
Shardul Thakur was part of Indiafor the Test series against South Africa and played the first Test match at Centurion’s Super Sport Park. Thakur was also part of the Indian cricket team during the 2023 ODI World Cup, however, he did not play many matches throughout the tournament.

Shardul Thakur is also known for his ability to take wickets at the much-needed time of the innings, Thakur can contribute a bit with his batting skills coming down the order. Shardul Thakur will now be seen playing in the Indian Premier League 2024 and was picked by the Chennai Super Kings in the auction. It was a homecoming for Thakur as he played for CSK in the IPL from 2018 to 2021 and later represented Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. However, Thakur did not have a decent performance with DC and KKR, so he could not repeat the performance that he did with CSK.

Thakur has picked up wickets whenever CSK has needed him and played an important role in helping the franchise win titles in 2018 and 2021. Shardul Thakur failed to make the team during the last edition of the tournament and will now try to play the competition once again for India after 2021. Thakur is also one of the bowlers of the Indian cricket team along with the likes of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah.
