Australian opener David Warner made another retirement announcement ahead of his final Test match against Pakistan in Sydney. Warner will retire from ODI cricket after playing his farewell Test match and will only be seen playing in the shorter international format. However, it has been a while since Warner appeared in the T20 format.
David Warner has been a destructive starter throughout his career and is known for his aggressive throws. Ahead of his final Test match against Pakistan, Warner opened up against the toughest bowler he has ever faced in Test cricket. It would have been very easy for a true cricket fan to guess the name Stuart Broad.
However, David Warner surprised his fans by not taking Stuart Broad’s name and believes former South African ace Dale Steyn is the toughest pacer he has faced in Test cricket. Revealing the fact, David Warner said during the press conference that he remembered the 2016-17 home series against South Africa.

David Warner revealed that during the WACA Test series in Perth, he and Shaun Marsh had to come out to bat for 45 minutes. Warner also made a revelation about the conversation he had with his partner Marsh. Marsh was saying that he had no idea how to attract Dale Steyn and he had no idea how to confront him either.
David Warner said: “It’s certainly Dale Steyn. Back to the WACA (the first Test of the 2016-17 home series against South Africa) when Shaun Marsh and I had to go out for an ugly 45-minute session. Shaun came up to me and said, “I can’t pull him, so I don’t know how we’re going to deal with him.” He put me on my back and I think he broke his shoulder in that game too.”
“He is a fierce competitor who throws the ball to the left-hander, which is similar to Mitchell Starc throwing the ball to the right-hander at a good pace. He was always a passionate customer who never gave you a smile and never gave you an inch or a snort on the field.”

Dale Steyn has played a total of 265 international matches for South Africa and has taken 699 wickets at an average of 23.27. His best figures were 7/51 and he finished his international career with 29 five-wicket hauls.
David Warner showed brilliant batting skills during the first Test of the AUS vs PAK series and played 164 innings. Warner’s innings helped Australia record a dominant 360-run victory over Pakistan.
Australia currently leads the three-match Test series 2-0 and will play the third match at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3.
The Australian team has dominated Test cricket throughout the year 2023 and is also the world Test champion. Pakistan, on the other hand, have not won a Test match in Australia for the last 24 years and have lost 16 matches in a row. Pakistan would try to break the streak in Sydney.
